Bathroom Decorating Ideas

If your bathroom’s image leans towards being more utilitarian than stylish, it could be time to give it an overhaul.  Whatever your budget, there are changes you can make that can transform a tired or outdated bathroom and give it a fresh new look.  Here are some ideas to help you plan your bathroom’s makeover:

Vanities & Cabinets

As well as being functional, bathroom vanity units and wall cabinets capture our attention and if they look old, unfashionable or just plain tatty, they can affect the appearance of the whole bathroom.  If your vanity or medicine cabinet looks like it’s seen better days, then you can either replace it completely or give it a makeover.  If it’s still got some use left in it, or you’re feeling particularly creative, you could give the doors a lick of paint and change the handles.  Alternatively, you could treat yourself to brand new bathroom cabinets and a stylish new vanity that fits in with your decorating theme.

Showers

Whether you’ve got a shower over the bath tub or a separate shower stall, you’ll need something to stop water spraying into the surrounding bathroom.  Something as cheap and easy as replacing a moldy old shower curtain with a nice new one can work wonders at giving your room an uplift.  Or if you’re willing to spend a bit more, you could fit a folding or sliding glass shower door.  Shower doors can look very elegant, and are more effective, especially with power showers.

Bath & Sink Faucets

If your bathroom suite is in good condition (and preferably white rather than 1970s avocado!), there’s no need to go to the expense and inconvenience of buying a new bath or sink.  Simply fitting new faucets can make a tremendous difference to the appearance of your sink and bath.  Bathroom faucets come in a huge array of styles, so whether the theme of your room is traditional or contemporary, you should be able to find a design that fits in perfectly and brings the whole look together.
